The Gift of Sensitivity

The Gift of Sensitivity
Alexandre Gagnard

This article comes as a long overdue update on where I have been for the past month.

I had sensed that June to August would be a very special period, and boy has it delivered. It truly feels like we are living in pivotal times and that change is accelerating exponentially.

July was a slow month for me. Quite frankly, I was not able to do too much. I could feel my body demanding me to rest and slow down. Pushing against this feeling was not leading me anywhere positive.

As you may know, life oscillates between cycles of contraction and expansion. This is true for all of us, although some cycles can last far longer than others.

The key is to honor these changing cycles and to not push against them. The I Ching, the Chinese Book of Changes, is a testimony to the importance of understanding these moving energies and knowing how to flow with them.

In truth, if you listen deeply to your heart and to your body, you will be able to sense which cycle you are in. The trick is that we are never taught to listen to them.

The modern way of life has arbitrary cycles that are mostly set through our work, mind, and societal expectations — e.g. “you need to be productive all the time.”

As you develop your intuition and sensitivity, you will find that you have a natural guidance system orienting you at all times. The key to really understanding this is to develop internal trust.

When I was going through this contraction in July, I wanted at times to get out of it. But I had no real control over this. I could only listen and trust that this cycle was leading me to somewhere new.

And once again, like times before, it has.

Contractions are not obligatory stops from the Universe. Like a tree that grows it roots underground, we ourselves also grow internally, unbeknownst to the visible eye.

A pause in your life, for whatever the reason, is a time where your internal energy can reorganize itself and prepare for changes in your external world.

You are constantly transforming, and some of the deepest changes you will ever go through will be completely internal. No one will see them, but you will feel this within yourself.

All this to say, trust your gifts of sensitivity and intuition.

For a long time in my life, I felt that being sensitive was a problem to be solved. I constantly tried to mimic the way other people lived, in order to feel accepted.

The truth was that 1) I did not accept myself at all, and 2) I did not understand that sensitivity is an amazing gift. I was simply never taught about it.

As you learn to trust that who you are is a gift, you realize that there is nothing to reject about yourself. You simply need to stop trying to fit in.

So I will share this final message with you today:

Don’t try to fit in. This was never who you came here to be.

Learn to trust yourself and follow your heart. It will most likely scare you and drag you into the unknown.

But this, in my experience, is the only life worth living.

You were not born to follow the masses.

We are still in a very potent energetic window right now, placed between the Lion’s Gate (8/8) and the Solar Eclipse (12/8).

What you focus on now will grow exponentially in your life.

Remember that you are allowed to dream and be different.

You are allowed to be happy.

But most likely, this will not happen if you create your life out of other people’s expectations, fears, and beliefs.

I highly encourage to take time this week to go within and tune into who you want to be, and what you want to create in your life.

Most of the things I have dreamt of in my life - that felt wild years ago - have come to fruition.

Look back on your life and see how much you have been supported. What happened when you dared to follow your heart?

May this text be a blessing for you on your path and a reminder that anything is possible.

Your beliefs are far more powerful than you think.

And you, are not here to fit in.

Be wild dear rebel!

A practical follow-up:

I am simplifying the channels I share with online. Moving forward, I will mostly be creating on:

Of these three, Substack feels the most resonant in my heart, and I will be writing more frequently on it from now on.

I also want to create a YouTube channel with fun and practical teachings, which will most likely come to fruition in the upcoming months.

Finally, there will be another iteration of The Joyful Rebel in October. The first journey is going beautifully well and I feel so much joy in this creation. We have an amazing group and I trust that this type of journey will be beneficial for many more!

I will share more about this journey in the upcoming weeks.

Much love and joy to you!
